Healthcare Conference will  explore the arts as a tool for reducing health disparities in rural communities

Arts in Healthcare is a rapidly growing field that integrates the arts into a wide variety of healthcare and community settings for therapeutic, educational and expressive purposes. This training program is for individuals interested in developing or participating in arts in healthcare initiatives in rural communities. Presented by leaders from the Shands Arts in Medicine and Weems Arts in Medicine programs, this training will provide participants with the skills and tools necessary for developing and sustaining arts in healthcare initiatives in rural communities. Emphasis will be placed on topics related to funding, partnerships program development and management, artist training, public relations and program assessment. Sponsored by the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, Shands Healthcare, and the George E. Weems Memorial Hospital. Registration: $45.
